All Game Boy Colors came with just enough capacitance on the board for the power regulator to work. Over time this capacitor gets worn and can store less energy. The result is noise on the audio, failure to save games occasionally, or complete failure of the board all together.
If you do any mods to your console such as backlights, new LCDs or audio upgrades, that slight increase in power is enough to either add a lot of high pitch noise to your audio or to cause other faults.
Install this ultra-high storage solid capacitor to remove any noise from your audio, clean up your power and allow you to get many more years out of your console.
To install simply de-solder the old capacitor, bend the new capacitor legs into place, trim them and solder it in the orientation shown in the image.

Retrogame Collector
Level2 is a small reality born in 2021 thanks to a group of retro games collectors. By combining passion and knowledge we created Level2, to allow all retro gaming enthusiasts to bring the handheld consoles of the past back to life, using only high-quality products.
We do it because we believe that the future of retro gaming is increasingly linked to the maintenance of the consoles themselves and because we feel we can bring back happy memories, which revive the golden era of video games when everything was a discovery.
We believe you can trust us because we are constantly looking for improvements, because we only rely on the most capable suppliers for the products we sell, and last but not least, because everyone in Level 2 Retrogames is a passionate videogamer like you.
We are Retrosix partner for Italy and Europe.
